About Us

The pub is a lot older than it looks, dating from the early 17th century and having been given a facelift in Victorian times.

It’s right at the centre of village life and often acts as a venue for the many activities that take place in and around Combe St. Nicholas.

Priding itself on the high quality of its beer, The Green Dragon has all the benefits of a real ‘local’. You’ll find a warm welcome from owners Helen and Trevor, fine real ales in perfect condition – with Otter Bitter as the house beer and a guest beer, usually from one of the smaller, local breweries that abound in this part of the world – and delicious Somerset food.

As a traditional village pub, The Green Dragon serves homely, country food made with local ingredients, including classic pub dishes and popular favourites, at lunchtimes and in the evenings.

There are two bars and families are always welcome. Popular with local residents, it provides a fortnightly free live music night with a wide range of interesting bands from southern state banjo to heavy metal.
